It has come to light that SmartHome is working on an INSTEON based energy monitoring solution. One of the first products in the pipeline is the Energy Display (model # 2448A2), an INSTEON In-Home Display which will show your energy consumption real time on a nice large LCD. It will rely on modules such as the iMeter Solo for gathering the data, and has the ability to display average energy/cost per month based on your monthly billing rate. Since this is still a 'skunk works' project, we'll have to wait for more information until it gets closer to its release data.
