Automation Studio and floorplans

I finally finished my floor plan graphic (will post images ia a few days).
Does anybody know what the right object is to drop on top of the rooms that is both transparent and will send a command to th OPII?
I have tried both button and object panels but they are only working when they are on top and obscuring the floor plan.

The floorplan should be the background of an Panel Container and you would place empty Buttons with Transparency enabled inside the Panel Container. I have had this working in the past. You can also place Status Buttons with Transparency enabled into the Panel Container as well.

Thanks. I took a look at it but I didn't see anywhere in the properties how to add a background to the object panel. Any hints?

Corrected my post. It should read Panel Container and not Object Panel.

Well, got the object container right with the proper image. However, everytime I try to make the buttons on top transparent, they still stay on top of the floorplan (all blue). If I select hide, they will disappear but so does the functionaliity.

You need to make sure that you are actually adding the Buttons to the Panel, and not just placing them "On Top".

1.) Right click on your panel, and click edit on the Pop-Up Menu.
2.) Another Canvas for that panel will appear, place your Buttons or Status Buttons here.
3.) For each Button or Status Button, change it's "Transparent" Property to "True" in the property grid in the lower right.
4.) Close the Panel Canvas window.
5.) Run the simulator and check it out!
