B-connector splicing technique

Just to throw in a little more data .. .   I've been using "telephone splice connectors" for 19 ga down to 26ga wire.  I like these little guys because they accept up to three wires, no stripping needed, and regular pliers work great.  There is a little window where you can see for sure that the connection was made.

As stated, those are Scotchlocks, UR's (or UY or UG's).
 
The issue is those don't fit down the standard 3/8" hole and can't be easily taped to allow such. Also, if you overcrimp them, you can cut or nick the cabling. Also, not designed or intended for stranded cabling. Many people overcrimp these, that drives the blade too deep usually nicking the conductor, which in turn negates the reason why you'd use a U connector, which is to have a gastight connection (insulation displacement).
 
I have seen those Ideal Scotchlok connectors at HD/Lowes. Although a quality option, I think I'll give the gel-filled B-connectors a shot. If they don't arrive by the time I need them, I'll give the Scotchlok or heat shrink butt splices a shot.

Yep.  When things are working pretty well, the forums get neglected a bit.
 
I will prob add to my thread on AVS to talk about a recent project wherein I installed a motorized PJ screen and hacked together a relay to kill a lighting can fixture only when the trigger for the screen was engaged.  Geektastic.

I installed the first 2 water sensors last night.  Refrigerator (cabinet depth) and dishwasher might be re-installed today (kitchen remodel), so I had to get those 2 taken care of.
 
My Dolphin-branded gel-filled B-connectors hadn't arrived yet, so I twisted the conductors, and heat-shrinked.  No solder.
 
I'll revise the connections next time the dishwasher is serviced, and the fridge is replaced (20 year old fridge).
 
I'll use the B-connectors for the other water sensors.
