Best rain sensor for sprinklers?

I have been using mini clik sensors - I am now on my 4th. I am about to buy another. It seems like the North East winters chew these things up every other year or so. The discs that absorb the water inside just get hard and the sensor stops working. Does anyone have a recommendation on another style of rain sensor that might last longer or is it simply that I must replace it every couple of years? Thanks.

I don't rely on the Rain Bird Rain sensor too much that I have installed but it has worked fine now for about 8 years or so. I currently have it connected to a DS10.

I utilized a rain tipping bucket for my sprinkler rain sensor.

I spoke to soon. I think my Rainbird sensor is still working but today I noticed I knocked out one port on the Digi box and my two Rain8nets have ceased to function; guessing it was a lightning strike. The rain8nets have been online now for about 8 years.
