I know that feeling...if it aint broke don't fix it. I think that many devices are made with both NO and NC contacts so that they can work with pretty much any control while the Elk can handle either. The standard of how to set the controller is just to avoid confusion. The way that you are configured is fine but it may cause confusion down the road to the next guy that looks at it or even to yourself if you forget what you did.
