Bitwise BC4X1 and Z-Wave...

I am trying my best to incorporate my z-wave modules, outlets, and switches into my BC4, but I'm having a heck of a time. I just cannot find any information anywhere on how to even get started. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I dont even know if they are IR, serial, script, or socket devices. As you can tell, I am a rookie at this home automation/security stuff. I do finally have a firm grasp on IR and how to route and program it finally. However, I know that is elementary stuff compared to what is available.

Anyone able to help me?

Thanks

Josh

Anyone?

Is there any information on the internet about the protocol Z-wave uses?

Has anyone written any scripts for using z-wave?

It can be pretty complicated writing drivers for Z-Wave, plus the SDK is pretty complicated. Your best bet is to build your solution on top of an existing framework (i.e., http://code.google.com/p/open-zwave/), or invest in the Leviton VRC0P interface, which lets you manage your entire Z-Wave network using simple ASCII commands.

Also check the link in my sig for open source/free software solutions supporting Z-Wave, many of them support scripting.
