Brultech Software Sneak Peak

Why don't you just get a second coil thingy and put it on the other line and run them in series with each other into Channel 2? That's what I did with mine. I have 3 circuits for lighting, and I did this with 3 of them and put them all on one channel.
That works fine for 120v circuits, but for a 240v circuit you need 1 coil for each leg, which means 4 coils for the 2 circuits, which is a bit of a waste for a purely 240v load. No sense using twice as many, if math with do the job.

someone can correct me if I am wrong but I am 99% sure my 240V AC doesnt have the same amount of amps running through each leg. I almost think the blower fired off one left and the comrpessor off the other. not sure if that is possible but I recall totally different amps when measuring the legs

That may be the case with some systems if you have a neutral running in the circuit. However, both my circuits use the other leg (no neutral is present) as a return, so they need to be identical.

Has anyone taking a look at the sqlite db that this runs on yet?

the tool is really nice, one issue that i think others have mentioned is that if you have one CT on the meter on at least some of the pages/graphs it shows double your usage It seems you need a switch to specify that one channel is the meter

Is there any chance Google Powermeter support will be added to official Brultech software?

While not much development has occurred lately with pyecm (there's really been no need), I've contacted Google to see if they will release access to the API much like wattzon has. I hope to have a response soon and will add support to pyecm if they do.

Cheers!

Hi
I have been using a beta version of the Brultech engine for over a week which has the google interface. It has an issue with uploading more then 10 channels at the moment (googles end has the issue), and you cant see any of the channels after the 18th even though the data is uploading to google (i have 3 ECM 1240s, using 20 real channels plus 3 virtual group channels).

Has anyone tried this, I get a "the database is malformed...." error, if I use my old database, and it won't run without it?

Anyone else have the same issues? Any solutions?

I was able to use my old database. Can you delete your DB and let it make a new one? If you can get it to load at all I think there is a link on one of the pages to to delete all the data.

For those uploading to google, are your timezones right? I tried no time shift and picking EST but either way it shows up in google about 5 hours off.

Hi

There was an issue for beta 1.44 though to 1.49 (i am not sure if the issue continued past 1.49) where you couldnt get the the engineG to create a new db. If you did, it wouldnt store any data and get the unregonized error message. The workaround was to use a db from a slightly older version of the engineG, and you might need to even press the Repair SN button.

A couple of questions:

Is this software going to be sold and if so any idea how much?

If the software (or computer) goes down will the software be able to grab the data that was missed from the ECM-1240 when it comes back up? I am refering to exploiting the data logging capability of the ECM-1240. This would seem to be a logical and necessary step in order to maintain accurate historical data. Or am I off target here.

This software is looking good, keep up the good work Brultech.

Thanks!
Brian

Any chance we could hear from Brultech on this?
