Burglar Interior

I am trying to understand how the "Burglar Interior" option works for a NC motion with the ELK M1.

I can see it change in the status window from short to open when triggered, but it does not trip the alarm.

What am I missing?

Thanks, Paul

I hate to say it, but

- the zones are clearly spelled out in the manual, including how they react in each of the armed states.

That said, the short answer is - it won't cause an alarm if armed in a Stay mode - only away. It's for motion sensors and pressure pads mainly.

Also make sure you don't have Silent Alarm checked on that zone. But yeah, interior zones only work in the Away type modes so you don't set off the alarm getting up for that midnight snack... :) If you want it to trip in the Stay modes, you can set it for something like Burglar Perimeter.

Thanks for the replies.

I had read the documentation on page 30; that is why I was stumped.

What I had overlooked was that I check the Area option for "auto stay mode after exit time if no violations".

All is good now!
