Can you reload the ELK M1's sounds?

Some how while trying to add a custom sound to my M1 I managed to over write some of the sounds that came with it, is there a way to restore the sounds back to factory?

How did you do that? If you record custom sounds, it shouldn't record over the originals. Can you describe the process you used to do this?

I used the process listed in the manual, somehow it overwrote some of the sounds, like number announcements and part of the intrusion alert sounds.

Update!

Well I finally go around to calling elk, they said it was a bug that is supposed to be fixed now, they sent me a new sound board free of charge, everything is 100% again!

Would you please say more about this? What firmware version has the fix? I don't see it mentioned in any of the release notes.

I am getting ready to do some first-time recording and would like to avoid blowing up my M1 vocabulary.

Also, does anyone have suggestions for the best way to electronically couple the .wav sounds in a PC to the phone line? (For best sound quality.)

They didn't elaborate, they just said it was a bug that is fixed now, they also said something about the elk having to be set up to be remote controlled by the phone but mine was.

I am sure it didn't affect a large group of people but they were aware of my problem.

I cant remember what firmware I was on when it happened and I have upgraded everything to the latest firmware as of this posting.

Lagerhead - I've never actually gotten around to programming my own sounds into the elk as I have the Elk124 recordable module... but as for getting "computer" sounds into the telephone, I have this unit: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.js...oductId=2104040 and have successfully used it several times to play back recordings into the telephone in great quality. It has a switch - in one position, it's set to record and acts like a microphone to anything on the telephone. In the other position, it's a playback device and can plug into the headphone jack of any device and play back over the line.
