Charmed Quark Support forums down

Dean: The forums link on the charmedquark.com site points to phpBB , which doesn't exist anymore as my DNS is now at the new one. However, I didn't bookmark the new forum site, so I can't get to it.

Can you update the charmedquark.com homepage so I can get to the new forums?
 
I'll wait till late tonight to do that. Most folks won't have seen the DNS changeover yet, and probably won't until tomorrow. So more people would be confused by changing it right now. And if I use the numeric address, people will end up with their cookies for the numeric address instead of the name, and that can cause problems later.

So I'll do it before I got to bed tonight and hopefully by the time many people get around to it tomorrow, they'll have already seen the DNS change.
 
I was surprised how fast my DNS change propagated when I switched name servers. Was only a matter of a few minutes. I was amazed.
 
Yeh, looks like everyone has pretty much seen it now. It took me 4 or 5 hours to see it, but it I'd see it already by last night.

But anyway, we are up and running again. We gave up our own forum content (it's just there for now in a read-only form for reference), but the new system is hugely better in every way. It's very fast since the machine we are on is really overkill for our needs. And it's enormously better to do maintenance via remote desktop with full access instead of a stupid 'lead gloves' web panel.

It's was about as much stress as I could handle, but it looks like it was worth it in the end. I'm still recovering and dealing with details and such, but should have it pretty much wrapped up some time after lunch and can go back to actually writing code again. I can't even remember now what I was working on.
