Has anyone looked into the Hunter SRR remote control protocol? It would appear that if you had the protocol you could control the zones with the Elk M1 via serial or rs485.
Sadly, they think providing the protocol would be damaging to them:
quoted from email to me:
Thank you for contacting Hunter Technical Support.
We are aware of an increasing public interest in home automation capability for our irrigation controllers. At this time, we do not manufacture a home automation interface or release the necessary communication protocol in the interest of protecting our products.
We have developed a system that will allow PC interfacing with an irrigation controller. The IMMS system (irrigation management and monitoring system) is designed as a commercial central control package. The system will work very well for a residential application but in most cases, the cost of the necessary hardware and software make it cost prohibitive for smaller projects.
In the meantime, Hunter Industries will continue to design products that meet the demands of the irrigation industry. We appreciate your comments and have made a note of your request.
