CR234 Operation

So commands from the CM15A don't get there but the remotes do sometimes.
Are the remotes going through the CM15A or one of the TM751s?

What version of Active Home Pro are you using?

Are your modules new enough to have the soft start feature? Where the load ramps on and off at about a two second rate? Wall switches may also have a resume dim feature.

The remotes appear to work whenever I am within range. The only portal for them is the CM15A. I removed the TM571s. I am using version 3.204 of Active Home Pro (been trying to update but it just crashes when I try). All of the modules are at least 5 years old, a couple are probably closer to 10. The wall switches are in the same age range. One of the problem functions is a wall switch, but I have another wall switch control that seems to be working fine.

I saw a sale on the CM15A yesterday. Should I try a new one and buy some new lamp modules, too?

Thanks, RK

Did you try to update to 3.306 through AHP or download the update and manually try the update?

One thing if you do get 3.306. The older before soft start modules are now in the Old Lamps No Soft Start list. You may have to redefine from what they where in 3.204.

Not too sure if a new one would be better. The switch working and the other not working could still be a signal problem to the one switch.

AHP will not control Insteon Modules directly. You can program an optional X10 address in them and they will work with AHP. To a point.
Smarthome chose to use an older X10 dimming protocol. So somethings like a status request get back a report AHP does not understand. Like %dim message. Since the Insteon modules are two way. Their transmitter circuits can absorb power line signals. Insteon messages get resent by the module while X10 messages are not resent.

An update... I was still having problems and as I was playing with the remote in front of the CM15A and the CR234, I realized that the remote didn't have any problem cycling through every light in the house, but the program in the CM15A didn't see to get through. Also, even with the remote, I would see the occassional error light flash on the CR234. When I was hooked up through my laptop and AHP (I did the update, before. Thanks!) I couldn't cycle all of the lights. I started thinking that the problem might be coming from the CM15A. Since X10 was running a sale, I picked up a new CM15A, some new lamp modules, and a RR501. Everything arrived yesterday. I loaded the program into the new CM15A, cycled through the lights with the remote and no error light. Cycled though everything with the computer and they worked correctly. Last night, everything ran as it should have. Maybe I found the problem. Thoughts?

Thanks again for all of the patience and advice you have all given me.

Best regards,
RK

If you upgraded from an older version of AHP to the latest. They now have two lists of lamp style modules.
There is now an older not soft start list. If your modules where not soft start and you upgraded to 3.311. You would have to redefine the non soft start modules or AHP sends extended commands that the old modules do not understand.
