Databus connections via 66 block?

How sensitive is the ELK databys to interference and such?

Woudl it be OK to terminate the field keypad wiring onto a 66 block in the wiring room and then pick it up from there to a Databus hub?

You can then use a pre-made patch cable and the adapter linked below to connect from the 66 block to the databus hub. Or you could just punch one end of a patch cable down directly on the 66 block forks.

I have all of my wiring terminating on 110 blocks, including the keypad RS485 bus for 3 keypads. They are connected to one of the Elk active hubs. While I wouldn't install 66 blocks in any new installation, I don't think that the low-speed RS485 signaling is going to work any different than in my 110 block configuration.

Here is my method, just FYI. Databus hub on the right mounted on the wall.

Serial is nothing like ethernet - the twist requirements are fractional - so throwing it on a 66 block won't cause any issues. And as much as I love 110 blocks for looks, 66 blocks are more flexible for making changes on both sides whenever you want. Not to mention, cross-connect clips are pretty handy if you wire in a way that's meant to use them.
