Perhaps a bit off topic, but does anyone know what DirecTv is doing in regards to HD boxes when they make the switch to new satellites (which I think is in the near future)?
I was a subscriber but switched over to cable, so I have a HD dish on my roof and a HD reciever downstairs along with a few standard ones.
Are they upgrading the boxes for free for subscribers or anything like that?
I am curious as going back is an option when my current promotion ends (I was not unhappy with them, cable just offerred a great deal) but also am curious as to whether or not I'll wind up with an obsolete box.
If anyone has heard anything I'd appreciate any info.
