Those smarthome ones look harder to install to me, cause you gotta put a transformer on a nearby stud. This would be virtually impossible if you have a finished basement
What powers those register dampers with the servo?
I am sure it uses a 12VDC AC adapter or something, but you could run some alarm wiring to a central location where you power the units, so the outlet doesn't have to be close. I think I still like the smarthome.com ones better as they become part of the ducting, not really happy with the idea of pestering the registers all the time, I still would like manual control.
