Dome vs Bullet

Thinking about it........ with the extra receivers its a decent deal. Two in front and two in back would be nice. I would want to be able to feed these into a PC so I could view over the net.

I guess I could hack into a recevier so it could be controlled over the net somehow.

I have two questions. The specs of the camera say:

Minimum Illumination: 1.0 Lux/F2.0 & 0 Lux (IR on)

What do the F2.0 means?

Also, without IR, it goes down to 1.0 Lux. Did you see any cameras going further down without IR?

I want a camera to monitor my baby, but dont want a bunch of IRs pointing at him. During darkness, the iris of the baby open to its max, and the IR, while not visible, can damage his eyes.

Any option with minimal IRs would be OK, but in concept if you start with a high sensitivity camera I could add a few IRs if needed. Even indirect IR light would be an alternative. The camera must face the baby, but I can add an IR illuminator to point to ceiling and reflect to illuminate the room.

I don't know what F2 means but if you don't need a wireless camera you can get a b/w super low light that will go to .0003 lux with no IR. Check the link IVB posted earlier in this thread.

Strange as it seems, the best low light camera I have seen is the Panasonic BL-C10 I bought from Martin. I know it is CMOS and only rated down to 1 lux, but it works better than my CCD stuff rated at .1 lux. Maybe it is because I can trust the 1 lux rating from Panasonic and I have no idea if these other cameras I have tested are working as claimed (since I have no idea who really made them)?
