Doorbell Camera with CQC or HomeSeer

Hello how can I integrate a Doorbell Camera into CQ or HomeSeer ?
What Camera you are use for that ?
How can i prewire that ?

I have an Avermedia NV5000 card that has web control. I have a camera at the door. CQC knows (via the Elk) when the doorbell has been pressed, so it wakes up the kitchen touchscreen and pops up an embedded HTML widget inside a CQC template for that specific camera. No manual action needed, just look at the kitchen touchscreen.

Well, in all honesty I removed the cameras when I painted the exterior of my house last summer. Not only have I not put the cameras back up yet, I haven't actually finished painting the trim. Well, I haven't actually started painting the trim. Painting the exterior took a lot of effort. I'll do it in a few months once rainy season is done :-)

I have done a Mobotix T24 with CQC.

The camera can send a html request that CQC can trigger an event on.

THe image can be extracted and displayed in a CQC template.

Have not tried any of the door release buttons etc yet, but I believe the protocol is HTML based and should be possible with a macro and command button.

Do you currently use DS10a's now?

As far as sensing the doorbell press itself; here is a really easy way to do this by using a magnetic contact sensor (without the magnet part).

Just mount the sensor near the coil of the relay that activates the 'ding dong' chime in your home.  The magnetic flux generated via the relay's coil will trigger the sensor.

It is enough of a trigger event that it toggles my DS10a directly.  If you don't have a DS10a and just want to wire the contact closure from the sensor directly into your hardware, you may need to 'stretch' that pulse using a one shot or something like an Elk-960 timer delay relay.

I believe I have some pics here that I could find and maybe even some documentation if you want more details.

IF you want to use existing analog cameras, HERE is a nice Axis video encoder that has external digital monitors that you can set events, such as emailing captures to that would work as well.

I even have an example of how to use this with a doorbell trigger in post #3 of that thread that should also work with this Axis model.
