DS2438 question

Hello all,

I'm not a technical noob, but no expert either, more a beginner, so bear with me.

I'm trying to find other uses for a DS2438, e.g. connecting an IR sensor. I've got a DS2438 which is recognized, but connecting a raw voltage to Vad doesn't result in a reading (apart from 0, that is). Shouldn't Vad measure raw voltages up to 12 Volts, being a smart battery monitor?

If so, are there any tests I could do to find out if my DS2438 is functioning properly? Cheers,

Hans

No expert ,, but 2 items 1st and most important how are you triggering the VAD convert ??? I read that you need to send it a a convert command via the 1-wire buss .. next it appears the upper limit of the VAD is 10 volts it also appears to be effected by the supply voltage VDD..

Hope this helps
