DSC PowerSeries Neo

I don't see any mention of advanced automation features as foretold by those predicting an "ELK killer".

@BraveSirRobbin did  you learn anything more about this at  ISC West?

I do see a little more in some of the DSC press releases. http://www.dsc.com/index.php?n=news&o=main&id=46&subtype=release

The camera on the PG9934P Wireless PowerG Motion Detector with Integrated Camera is activated upon movement when the detector is armed. Images are sent via the Ethernet or Cellular signal to a monitoring station where staff can view, verify and respond accordingly. The PG9934P is capable of operating in total darkness, making it the ideal tool for delivering visual alarm verification under any circumstance.

No, they didn't have the 'best' people managing their booth.  Only ONE guy knew what he was talking about and he was kept very busy! ;)

Given my experiences with other Tyco products, I doubt it'll be an Elk killer.

While it may be a sales item to a mass market product...no different than Honeywell's offerings, the higher level isn't going to be there.

Based on past Tyco experiences and DSC...there's going to be QC and reliability issues to consider. Usually Tyco pushes a bulleted feature point and the refinement isn't there and takes a few generations or patches before it starts becoming a viable product....

Care to want some engineer phone numbers to discuss further?
