dvr remote viewing different fromcable to adsl?

Hello,

i have set-up a dvr at my office for testing purposes.. on an adsl connection.. works great in the LAN and WAN anywhere!! ( all this on a bosch 440 series dvr and iphone and ADSL connection)

i go onsite to a customers home, install a dvr... FAIL... cannot get the thing to remote view on an iphone... ( this on a ness ezy vision dvr, an iphone and a CABLE connection )

now the dvr and phone shouldnt matter in either situation, however im thinking it could be the connection ADSL v CABLE
have pinged the dvr ip all tested ok, have check the port i have set on the dvr.. open and ready to go..??

has anyone had any issues setting up remote viewing on a cable connection... if so how did the setting differ from the ADSL connection..

thanks alot

Are you forwarding the appropriate port to the DVR's IP address in your firewall? When you are in your office, you may be connecting over the "local network" so the port would be inconsequential. Depending on your provider, you may have to request that the port be opened.

i am correctly opening the ports... i have this set-up completely working from my office LAN and when im on the road i can view the cctv.. i replicated this set-up in a clients premises with the differences in my first post..

i thought there may be another technique needed for some cable internet connections that im not aware of..

Are you relying on Port 80 to access a web page, or is there a specific other port for the DVR? Many ISP's block Port 80 and 25.

What ports do you have forwarded to your office DVR?
