I have several installs where people want the frount door automated with a door strike. The back doors are no issue a regular handel and a mechinical door strike does the job.
But frount doors with the decritive handles that the bottom doesn't lock and the deadbolt locks the door how do you automate them? they is no souch thing as a deadbolt door strike and I can't find a handel to work no one wants a knob on there frount door in a fancy house.

I also have to be able to unlock it from the inside without paoer in a fire condition.

My solution to this problem was to "modify" a deadbolt so that instead of a sliding metal bolt, it contains only a small switch. The switch is used to control a maglock mortised into the headjamb. I also use the switch to control an electrified mortise lock (because I hate latch pushers).

The lock status is easily determined from inside the house by looking at the deadbolt's thumbturn (though it can be temporarily overridden by the security system). If there is a fire, the maglock is automatically powered off.

This design is still in construction, but should be in place in a few weeks.

Hmm, there must be a such think because I'm using them on my doors. They come in fail-safe or fail-security types, and I use fail-safe. I use a better backup for each and use a hand wave sensor inside to unlock them. Wave your hand and its unlocked. I get them on E-bay and they have been working years without a failure.

You have electric deadbolts as well as the motorized Z-Wave deadbolt that is supposed to be released by B&D (Kwikset) sometime this month.
