Electric Strike

I would like to have an electric strike for the mud room entry from my garage. I plan on having a proxy sensor out there connected to a MG KP and it would disarm and unlock the door. I am thinking of the Triune 3234W strike. So I am guessing I need 12v power to it and maybe a relay. But how it is wired? Can someone shed some light on this? My mind is not seeing the picture of how it all goes together.

Thank You. T.

T, I've used the Rutherford 6 series strikes.

Wiring is very simple, you have the output of your KP drive a relay, like the Elk 912. That provides 12V to the strike to open it. Of course, you'll have to choose fail safe/secure, depending on your application. The Rutherford lets you simply turn a knob on the strike to select.

You can switch 12VDC for almost silent operation, or AC to get a "buzz" when open. The strike supports 12 or 24 V, AC or DC.

Look at the last couple pages of their install guide for more info.
