ELK EZ8 Adding a second area - detatched garage

I have a currrent Elk EZ8 system in my house.
I am using the GE wireless to have a wireless motion sensor in the garage.

I would like to hardwire the garage so I can have a keypad.
Also add another GE wireless receive to increase my wireless range to the barn.

When I ran service to the garage I ran two sets of CAT 5 cables.

I would prefer to only use one for the alarm.

What do I need for the Elk?
ELK-M1DBR Data bus in my elk panel?
Then I run this to a keypad
Then I run a new wireless from the keypad?

If I have 2 wireless units on my elk system do they both work together? Or do I need to pair specific devices with each wireless device?

There has been a bit of talk about this recently so I won't go into details; study the M1 Databus and decide how you'd like to run it... you can get away with skipping the DBH and just making one of the two legs the garage run and terminating at the last device. You can have keypad, input, output, and any other expanders - all over that single Cat5. You'll end up with an extra pair too, actually.

As for the 2 wireless units - yes, you can have multiple wireless units and the M1 will "combine" them as a way to increase range - it's pretty transparent.

Here is the other recent thread:

Also, for clarification purposes, you can't install multiple receivers if you have the older Caddx/GE 548E wireless receivers connected via the pigtail onto the board.
