How do I get the nx548e to learn the remote? I have the pertinent data in the wireless setup in the elk panel ie: keyfob address and zone. I put this data in thru elkrp. I kinda remember having to push a button on the nx548e and also on the keyfob but I cant find my notes on this.

any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Bill

In ElkRP, under Wireless Setup, you'll see "Keyfob Events". That's where you train the Elk to do something in response to a button push.

What version of firmware do you have? You need 4.x for GE, not 5.x. You can either enroll via keypad 14 > 3, or via RP. Also you can see if this helps...

But dont I have to push a button on the 548 and then on the remote, for the 548 to see the remote first then go to the elk??

Sorry, I use the Elk receiver, but afaik you do not need to touch the receiver once installed. You should be able to enroll them via RP or the kpd. I usually just enter the transmitter info into RP.

Yeah, not following. Just press the wireless setup button for the Elk zone, and you can enter in the TX ID # off the transmitter. No need to do anything with the receiver, at least not with the Elk one.

To manually install a keyfob go to installer menu 14, submenu 3, and pick an unused zone, say zone 20. Press the > key on the keypad until the phrase "Press Transmitter Button" is said and displayed. Press the ARM and DISARM, upper two buttons at the same time and hold until the keypad shows that the keyfob is enrolled. Program the zone definition to KEYFOB. Program the keyfob definitions with the keypad or ELKRP.
