elk M1 gold

I found a used elk M1 gold for sale and had a very simple questions:

1. Are there any notable differences between older elk m1golds and the ones built today?

2. Is there anything I should be looking out for if buying a used elk m1 gold?

3. Is it even worth the trouble to buy used? Should I just buy new?

We finally closed on our house so maybe I can start putting some of this pre-wire to use!

I don't know how good a deal it is - that would be a big factor. That said, I don't think there's any real different in M1's - they can be upgraded to current firmware and should be compatible with current accessories. Mine is about 6 years old and has no issues with anything current.

The important thing is to know the board is fully functional; sometimes they'll lose the modem or other minor components; and I don't know how Elk would handle it if there was a warranty issue... but again, depends on how good the price is.
