Has anyone done an application with this pump? Seems since the pump has an onboard interface it should not be a big problem to control the 4 speeds of the pump using lv control signals. But until I get my hands on the pump and manuals I am only hoping.
Some people have tried to reverse engineer the protocol with some success but by far the easiest way for the average person is to use the Intellicom II adapter. You would connect 4 outputs from the M1 to the 4 Aux inputs on the Intellicom and turning on each output would in turn select a programmed speed on the pump. This is on my agenda for the next few months.
Steve, thanks for the info. I had not looked far enough to see the adapter. Probably go that way seeing I will be too busy setting up the new house to bother spending days to save $150. But after everything is set up it would be a interesting project.
If you have the intellitouch automation control running the intelliflo you can go with the i-link home automation adapter.
It converters their proprietary rs-485 protocol to ascii rs-232 which I know work with HAI Omni's, elk has serial ports too right? Nice thing about the i-link is you can read temps, controls lights and actuators and heater as well for spa use etc.
