Elk M1G and ipDatatel CBAT

Anyone using this combination?  I'm not planning on having a POTS line in the new house, so I'm looking for IP monitoring with cell backup.

I've been using the IPBat on a DSC alarm since Aug 2010.  Can't tell you about the Elk interfacing but can speak to the reliability of the IPBat which is outstanding as is the support from the vendor I bought it from http://www.alarmsystemstore.com. I had an issue come up recently where IPDataTel (parent company managing the back end) upgraded their server farm and my IPBat refused to communicate properly (I had a rev 1 unit) Between Jon at AlarmSystemStore and IPDataTel I ended up with a replacement unit at no charge.

We use Android devices and the IPBat client works great from our smartphones.

Thanks for the report.  DSC is a "supported" system, so it connects to the CBAT differently than an Elk would.  They both support the Contact ID protocol, so it SHOULD work, but I'm hoping for some first hand reports of that combination.

Connecting to the bus wouldn't work but using as a dialer capture would. No different than using any other dialer capture unit on the market that offers dual path...think Honeywell is the only one off the top of my head.
