Elk M1G Output 2 stopped working

Hello All.  Suddenly my M1G started throwing out the Output2 Trouble non-stop.  Previously I had 2 outdoor sirens connected and it's been working for about 2 years.

I thought maybe a siren went bad, so I connected each one by itself - turned the system back on and voila!  Output 2 trouble.  I connected just a 2.2k 1/4watt resistor  to output 2 and it's still showing output 2 trouble.  Is something wrong with the system?  Is 1/4watt not big enough?  Any ideas would be appreciated!

If you strap the output and you still show trouble, it's not looking good.

The other options would be to bootstrap the panel and jump out the output to see if there's a corruption on the panel and/or remove the lithium battery on the board and then do the prior, but the prognosis isn't good.

Are they actual sirens or speakers being driven as sirens?  My output 2 crapped out after a few months with the same problem you are having - I had a single ELK 73 speaker connected to it.  I checked the speaker afterwards and it was shorted out.  Someone else on here hypothesized that it might be the relatively high supervision voltage/power used by the Elk system on that output.  As it sits right now I have nothing connected to my Output 2 any more on my replacement board.

Ouch, thanks for the help. My alarm still arms - but all the keypads display Output 2 Trouble all the time.

I did have speakers used as sirens. Maybe I will try tomorrow to see if the speakers are still operational. Thanks again for the help. I'll report back about my speakers.
