Elk M1G - "Over Current" message following lightning "event"

Before I pull the trigger and order a new Elk M1G system board, I thought I'd see if anyone had any other suggestions...
 
The sequence of events was...
 
Lightning nearby... magical blue smoke.... $12k insurance claim.  
 
From the time power restored, the ELK reported "Over current" and a long list of other errors.  I've since put the board on a bench and connected it to ONLY a brand new keypad and a new AC power supply.  I've reset the eeprom to factory.
 
The over current message still hasn't cleared.  The keypad reports 13.9 volts and 0.21 A.
 
so...
 
Is there any point in continuing or should I start over with a new board?  
 
The insurance company will make good and I'm running short of patience given all the other issues I need to deal with.

A new board would never hurt. It sounds like the M1 isn't the only device that suffered. Replace it and be done with it. That's what we have insurance for.
 
If you have it repaired who knows what else may creep up in the future that isn't a problem now. Maybe have it replaced with a new one and send out the old one for an estimate to fix depending on the cost. That way you'd have a spare for the potential (no pun intended) of a future mishap.

Lightning and electronics don't mix and since there's insurance involved, it's a no-brainer.
 
Also, if you had that good of a hit, plan on replacing the peripherals (contacts, GBD's, PIR, smokes, etc) that are tied to the system. Many times on insurance jobs we've seen others replace only the primary failed items and the remaining items start failing randomly after that....contacts and relays in devices are notorious for having pits blown into them on the reed portion of the relay on a lightning hit.
