I don't understand the Burglar Interior Nite Delay mode (07). I have a Bosch Blue Line PIR set up on area 16. JP1 is set to "Zone 16 Normal."

Sometimes, but not always, when armed in the away mode, I can trip the PIR and it counts down until the keypad says "Entrance =0" and then it alarms. I enter my code and it stops the alarm. I enter it again and it clears the "Burg Alarm Family Room PIR" message. I understand this is the normal behavior. More often it just counts down to 0 and the KP beeps continuously. No Alarm. I have never had it alarm in the stay night mode. It also counts down to zero and the KP beeps; no alarm. The only way to stop the beeping is to enter my code, but it never says anything about an alarm, and the one code entry clears it.


If I change the definition to Burglar Interior Nite mode (06) it works as I would expect. Always alarms, and it always takes two code entrys to clear the alarm.

What am I missing here?

The "Interior Night Delay" zone definition is for areas that are NOT active when armed in the "Stay" or "Stay Instant" arming mode. Example: A basement motion detector. When at home and armed in the "Stay" or "Stay Instant" mode, people may be going into the basement area. When armed in the "Night" or "Night Instant" mode usually when people go to bed, the motion detector will be put back into the system and will have an entry delay if tripped.

Thanks for the reply. I began this thread when I was too frustrated and tired. I'll try to take another shot at it this weekend and try to get the terminology right. This is still on my workbench, but the PIR, along with a couple more will eventually be in our unfinished, full walkout basement. Exactly what you used as an example. I'd like to set it up as DEF 7 - Burglar Interior Nite Delay because we rarely go downstairs at night, but if we forget we want an opportunity to disarm.

When I have it defined as type 7, and when the system is armed and displaying NITE, then tripping the PIR results in the KP2 beeping and counting down While displaying "Entrance = 14" and so on down to Zero. When it gets down to zero, the KP2 beeping continues, but the speaker siren on output one never sounds. If I trip the PIR when the system is armed in AWAY mode, it will sometimes alarm, but usually just beeps the keypad until I enter my user code one time.

Entry doors (Def 1 - Burglar Entry/Exit 1) behave OK. KP2 beeps while counting down, and when it hits zero the siren starts. I enter my code twice, first stopping the alarm, and then clearing the display on the KP2 of the violated sensor. I believe the entry doors behave identically in Away, Stay, and Nite modes.

I did some software improvements in that area. The next software release should improve some operations.
