Elk M1G Wireless group changed to Hardwire Group

I have a zone group on my M1G that is shown as a hardwired group but they are wireless devices. I'm not sure when this changed, I configured each of the zones through RP with their wireless parameters several years ago. The zones all operate correctly.
 
Is there any way to change the designation without deleting the group and adding it back in? Since RP doesn't recognize the zones as wireless there doesn't appear to be any way to display the wireless setup parameters. I would need to go to each wireless transmitter and open it to determine the transmitter ID to rebuild the zones.
 
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How about you build a fresh account and drag the panel as it exists into RP....if the devices are seen as RF by the panel, you should be able to grab the info there.
 
Probably a DB issue or RP issue. Have you done any updating or upgrading of RP?

I did upgrade to RP 2.0.20 a month or so ago, I didn't notice if this zone group was incorrect at that time.
 
I tried your suggestion of creating a new account and loading the panel to it, the group loads as a hardwired group "Hardwired - Exp 2", just as it was shown in the original account.
 
Looks like I may be prying covers off of 16 transmitters in the near future...

I'd be suspect of them working 100% correctly because the RF needs to annunciate a tamper and LB condition.
 
Barring that, you should be able to view the ESN's from the keypad.

I'm not sure of the exact details but this sounds like a carryover of an annoying bug of the RP software.  If you add wireless zones and DON'T enroll any devices before saving/reloading it seems to revert back to wired zones instead of wireless.  I don't remember the exact steps but basically you need to add the wireless zones and get something added to them as a wireless sensor and then it'll stick. 
 
It seems to me that some sort of indicator/trigger for the RP software is confused despite the Elk probably knowing what its doing.  Unfortunately I know of no solution off hand as it's not something I can test.

I think you're correct in this being a bug in RP. I don't know how long this zone group has been incorrectly listed as Hardwired. I added the devices about 3 years ago and probably have not made any changes to the zones in the group since then. I found a hardcopy report of my system configuration from about a year and a half ago and the zone group was incorrect then. As I say, the zones appear to operate correctly from a "normal/violated" perspective but as DELL said, I wonder if they correctly report tamper and low battery?
 
In any case I need to get it fixed, so I guess I will delete the zone group and then add each device back in to a new "wireless" group.

You say the wireless zones all operate correctly. That's good. 
So the goal is to get RP to agree that the group is wireless and not hardwired.
This happened to me and the advice I got worked.  I fixed it doing the following very carefully.
1. Open RP and turn off the check for conflicts option.  <Setup-Options-Connections>
2. Open your account but remain offline.  Do not connect to the M1 yet.
3. While offline, delete the incorrect hardwired zone group.
4. Still offline, add back the group as a wireless group.
5. Still offline, go to the wireless setup and choose transmitters.  Double click on any wireless zone.
6. Put a check in the enable box and enter a TXID number in that box.  Hit save on this page.
7. Now that you've established a new wireless group and have one zone programmed with a TXID then it's time to 
   connect RP to your control.  Just DO NOT hit send to control at any time.
8. Right click on wireless Setup folder and choose - receive wireless setup.
9. Then right click on the wireless group and choose - receive all wireless-group zones.
10. If all goes well you should see the group as wireless and RP will not match the M1.
       If not then stop and disconnect.  No harm is done as long as you don't hit send to the M1.
11. If all is good then save the account.  You will probably want to turn back on the check for conflicts option.

The above suggestion is no different than opening a blank template and dragging the entire panel in as a different DB. A lot more work too.
