Very strange things have been happening lately. About 3 months ago, my Elk M1 stopped communicating with NextAlarm. I figured I must have pulled out a wire or something accidentally, but I spoke to tech support and they were unable to help me. All of the sudden, it started communicating again, I got an e-notify email from, NextAlarm about a Supervision RF Loss on one of the sensors. I thought that was odd and wanted to see if it was receiving any other messages, so I armed and disarmed the alarm and everything worked as it should (mind you I haven't even stepped into the the area the alarm panel is in for a very long time). Well, suddenly the police were at my house claiming I tripped a silent alarm. I apologized and thought it was done.
Then today (about 4 days later) another e-notify message saying "Protection Loop Trouble" on a different sensor, and again a silent alarm was tripped. In the event of a silent alarm, I guess the police are the first call. Fortunately I was able to stop NextAlarm's dispatch when they called to verify.
Can anyone help me decipher what the heck is going on? I know I will probably have to move my wireless receiver, it seems like some of the sensors are a bit too far away. The room that the sensors were in today have no crawl space nor do they have an attic so I can't really hard wire sensors in there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
