Elk & Z-Wave Question

I have my M1 Gold setup and have HomeTroller running HomeSeer 2 with Z-Troller. I was thinking of adding some Z-Wave motion sensors but wanted them to be added to the alarm system, so it could trigger an alarm to the monitoring company. I know I can buy a Z-Wave module for the Elk to integrate my Z-wave devices in, but since I have Z-troller already in use is there any other option?

i think the z-wave motion sensors were meant as occupancy sensors. i'm not sure you are allowed to use them as part of a monitored alarm system. i think you probably have to use some sort of certified motion detector. if you are looking for a wireless motion sensor to use with the elk, it's probably much easier (and allowed) to use the elk wireless receiver.

as for z-wave with elk in general, i believe the general consensus is stay away from the current z-wave module. i believe interoperability with the Vizia RF RZCOP is planned, but I don't know how far along that is.

Just seems a shame to have motions sensors that are Z-wave that are used only as occupancy sensors that link to HomeSeer and other motions that liknk to Elk. Seems like it should be easy for HomeSeer to pass a violated zone to Elk.

Most folks go the other way; use a wired motion sensor as a security sensor, but tell your HA software when it's violated, and if it's unarmed then do whatever.

I am using the Ultrajones Elk module to get all Elk information into Homeseer. Works great. Is there a way to create an event that when a certain action, say a Z-wave motion sensor is activated, it triggers an Elk event or relay, such as a violation of a zone, this causing an alarm to go off, if the house is set to away mode?
