elkm1::control and elkrp

I setup elkm1::control and its working, but (always a but) ...
 
When RP is connected, it stops displaying most of the messages (i.e. zone changes, etc).
 
When the RP is disconnected, the messages start again.
 
Is this known behavior and/or is there a way around it?

It's normal, The control protocol becomes unavailable when RP is connected.
