ElkRP 2.0.4

Anyone notice the new features? They seem to be well hidden:)

it was just a rewrite of ELKRP to VB.net, which I hope will offer more stuff in the future. I look forward to see what they are adding for us.

There are some provisions for audio controls that I don't recall seeing on previous versions of RP. The M1XEP setup has a tab for audio, and there are rules for audio control too.

Nice to see Elk is still out there. They've been so silent on product development for the past 6 months that I began to wonder if they were still alive.

I think we were all starting to feel that way. In this day and age, when a company is silent for that long, there is good reason for concern. Let’s hope 2010 turns things around.

Hopefully that means bigger and better things for some of the existing product.

Maybe a re-write of the m1xep is coming ;) :o :o
Honestly, who knows anymore...

Personally with HAI also having more of a presence here that may be a reason for them to become tight lipped. Why spill the beans in an open forum where you KNOW the competition is also. You dont see HAI saying we are working on XXX and it will be out in 6 months on the forums here, so why should ELK?

I guess we all became so comfortable with them giving us the information we were asking for other then listening to our feedback and answering support questions.

Also Spanky stepped up and took a temporary position in their company which I'm sure took alot more time and energy so things needed to get cut (CT forums) now that he is back to his comfortable position I have seen more postings here by him, so lets hope the communications barrier is not down and he will have more time for us DIY'rs

Try it, and let us know how well it works :) I think it still usses an Access backend though.

Rest assured that ELK's silence is only because their products/firmware undergo rigorous testing. Especially by some of us who test their products/firmware in real world situations. I don't work for ELK but I have faith from what I have seen for many years that they will be around for the long haul. Patience is a virtue when it comes to products that are responsible for one's life and safety. Happy New Year all.
