EMT Conduit?

Here's a thought. In areas where I can't avoid running CAT and Coax near AC lines, is there value is running a short length of conduit? In one case I thought a 4-5' length of EMT conduit would help me get through a "busier" AC area. In another, some of my cabling needs to run near the electrical panel so loads of AC there. Does PVC EMT conduit help at all on its own? What about metal EMT conduit if it where grounded?

It appears you are concerned with electrical interference or noise.
I wouldn't think pvc would do anything except provide for a bit of seperation.
I would think emt , if grounded, would act much the same as shielding on a cable.
PVC stands for polyvinyl chloride, ( plastic ) ... EMT stands for electrical metalic tubing... so PVC EMT would be plastic metallic tubing
