Ethernet Rack Mounts

I just discovered that a Linksys 24 port Ethernet switch doesn't fit the ELK-SWB28 28" structured wiring box. Anyone have any experience with a wall mount 19" rack? I'm looking for one that will handle the modem/router/switch etc. I like the ones with the smoke glass front, three piece design, with multiple fan options.

I considered installing a 19" wide rack system in my wiring closet but gave up after seeing the price. Instead, I used inexpensive wire shelving from Home Depot. The wire shelving worked out fine. Sometimes, I think I cheaped out on the installation, but then I remember how much I saved. The least expensive 19" rack was over $100, and my wire shelves with wall brackets were less than $30.

I took someone's advice and kept an eye out on Craigslist. Found some used, but really heavy-duty racks locally for a great price. (Thread here) I know this isn't what you were looking for exactly, but all sorts of things pop up from time to time.

I have a nice aluminum rack with nice solid aluminum shelves. I still used shelving like Cort used for small items like my cable modem, router, switch, and VOIP adapter. The wire rack provides much better air flow for cooling the equipment, and it is rather simple to tie the equipmet to the shelf with wire ties, velcro, microbungies, or whatever.

Cort, you got a pic of that setup? It's kind of what I had in mind too. I would think a shelf would be a lot easier to work with. May not be the height of esthetics, but if it works and organizes and saves me a lot of $$$, then it wins in my book.
