Fire Trouble after alarm silenced

I've got my smokes up and running, but whenever I've tested them I get a Fire Trouble that I'm unable to cancel except by power cycling the Elk control. Doing the smoke reset from the keypad doesn't work but when I cycle the power on the control everything comes up fine. I have 14 WTA-B on 3 circuits, the last on each circuit terminated with an Elk EOL and a System Sensor power supervision relay. I also have the RRS-MOD installed. When I test the smokes, everything works as expected with all of the sounders lighting off.

I remember seeing somewhere that a Fire Trouble is a possible result when the alarm goes off, however I'd like to be able to cancel the trouble without having to go to the panel and cycle it. Not a huge deal, but I'm hoping there's a better way. Any ideas?

Digger recommended a solution he saw work. I think we are talking about a similar type of event, although I think my symptoms were a little more intrusive (also using 2 wire versions not 4 wire).

I tried it but it did not seem to work, however I have not since gone back over the wiring to make sure I did it correctly.

Wow, it has been months since that came up. I really need to get back to my testing. Time flies. Doesn't help that I can't exactly test that one late at night (all smokes going off...).

Make sure that the 4 wire smoke power is being powered from the Smoke Power Terminals. When you do a smoke reset from the keypad, the smoke power drops out and resets the latched in smoke detectors which should clear the Trouble after you enter your user code.

I'm using the RRS-MOD, so I'm wired to the smoke power as well as the aux power. Perhaps I have them backwards - next time I'm out there I'll check.

Thanks,
Jon

OK - I checked my wiring and in fact I had the power wires switched around. I had the Yellow/Orange pair hooked up to VAUX instead of SAUX. Switched those around (and moved Red/Black to VAUX) and everything worked great. Thanks!
