GE wireless sensor question

Does anyone know if the GE designline window sensor (TX-1010-01-1) is compatible with the ELK-M1XRF2G? The range on these is advertised at 500 feet. Does anyone have experience with these?

Also, I could not find the range on the GE NX-454 micro door senor?

I am looking for an unobtrusive wireless sensor to use with elk on double hung windows. Any info is greatly appreciated.

I've got a Micra-G and a Plunger-G on the way for testing with this same receiver. If these work, they might be a better option for a windows sensor for you, as they are completely hidden. I'll post my test results as soon as I get them.

Thanks for the reply. These do look interesting. I was wondering if they would work with double hung windows. Where would you mount them in order to use only one sensor per window?

The Designline sensor is crystal technology so it is compatible with the ELK-M1XRF2G. I have used them with GE Concord systems and they work well and look nice. When a manufacturer gives a range it is always the max range under optimum conditions and the range is reduced by how many walls, metal, etc. are between it and the receiver, so I never plan to install a device at it's max distance. I looked up the NX-454 on the GE site and they don't give a range there either. They did have a set of generic instructions saying not to install any transmitter more than 100'. The NX-454 is an older device than the Design line so I would guess it probably has far less range than the Designline.

I wonder if you could mount one between where the top rail of the bottom window and the bottom rail of the top window touch when the window is closed. I don't have them yet, so no idea on the dimensions.
