Hi -- just joined and thought I'd post what I did for a generic e-mail configuration for my new Elk M1G. I did a search, and it appears that many people have difficulty getting e-mail to work with their existing ISP. I did, and while I know many people have solved this problem one way or another, I thought I'd post a generic solution that should work for everyone.
1) Go to http://www.lavabit.com and sign up for their Basic account (free)
2) After you have your account activated, log into your account on their webpage and click on Preferences
- Click on "Advanced Configuration" and make sure that "require SSL" is set to Disable
3) Set up your e-mail preferences at shown in the attached picture.
4) Make sure your DNS servers are configured in the TCP/IP tab to those of your ISP
I'm hoping that should work for everyone. You just need to remember to log onto your lavabit e-mail account once every 90 days to keep it active.
