Glass break sensor not working?

We installed a glass break sensor in one of the houses and to my amazement I went over to the client and he was getting windows replaced so he armed the system and brought in an old window about 8â€x8†standard French door size to the basement about 20' from the sensor put down a sheet and broke it. Glass alarm never went off. Led lit up and it detected noise but it never went off we tied several time. The sensor we where using is the recess mount sentrol shatter pro II 5820A.

Has anyone else tested these with real life tests?

Did you lay the window down to break it? The window needs to be upright so the glass fragments have a chance to vibrate in air before they are damped out when laying on the floor.

yes it was on the ground up on a 45 deg angle. I will have to have him try it with the glass inthe air.
