GSM to add to security

Can someone explain to me how GSM can be added to a security system? Currently I have a POTS to my alarm (honeywell Vista 15P) but I want to disconenct my POTS ($$) and get one of these GSM kits. Will any pre-paid sim card work? Any online monitoring systems compatible with GSM?

What a bad first post, I meant to put GSM to topic title.

This will help me alot:
Is the Uplink 2500 compatible with Honeywell Vista 15P? If so, do I need to purchase anything in addition to make it compatible?

I would take a look at HAI's C3 product, which is really cool and is compatible with most alarm panels:

Seems like a perfect solution! This also will avoid the extra $7 or so the monitoring service would charge for GSM service.

It really does look like the best solution in its class. I do recommend you buy this from a CTVA vendor if you want a smooth transaction.
