After reading AnthonyZ's posts on another thread (ref?) and with all of the people here starting to get energy monitors, it seems like it makes sense to have people take a look at the quiescent energy draw of their systems. The basic energy suckers are probably:
1) Automated light switches
2) Alarm system
3) HA controller
4) HC PC
5) Audio/Video System(s)
6) Network equipment like routers and firewalls
7) UPS's
8) Touch screens
I know I have at least 250W quiescent between a UPS, PC, 50 UPB switches, networking gear and 3 networked music players. No touch screens yet. The lowest hanging fruit is my server that draws 100W (20 from UPS). I'm sure I could get that down, ofter that it seems tough.
My Brultech 1240 should come this week so I'll get some numbers for you.
