HAI and Linux support

I've noticed some Hai products use embedded Linux and yet all SDK and software relating to HAI is coupled very closely with Windows and the .NET platform.

What are the chances of HAI having a bit of a Linux SDK/API available in the future? Chuck Cannon's library seems to be the only option at the moment, but it's rather old and the links to download the API are no longer active. Plus, it seems some of the protocols have changed from that API to the current protocols.

I'm in the process of trying to remove Windows from my new home scenario and a Linux solution would be preferable. Linux has some great audio control options (MPD and Jinzora), PBX solutions (Asterisk), and far more. It would be great to write a HAI client under Linux to use on things like laptops, embedded touchscreens, Nokia N800/N810 (Maemo) tablets, and the like and link everything together. The Nokia N800's as clients would be so sweet - home control, music control, SIP phone, e-mail, web browser, GPS and more all in one small and inexpensive package. We just need a current API so get the ball rolling.

Thanks

Peter,

Currently, we don't have a Linux SDK per say, but our Protocols are available for anyone that wants them. You should probably check out our developer support site and forum on our website. There is a growing community of developers there to answer questions, exchange ideas, etc. You can also download a lot of information, protocols, and documentation there.
