Haiku HAI and the iPAD

I have this same issue and i brought it up on this forum about two months ago, but I have not gotten any workable answer. The HAI IP camera works on the HAI Snaplink for Iphone and also works on all the web browsers including IE, Chrome, Safari and Mozilla. If you try to view the source directly, it gives you some unreadable characters.

I hope Nullriver can solve this issue because I love the Haiku the most of all the three Iphone applications I use for my clients, but the lack of compatibility with HAI IP camera might be a deal breaker for me.
 
@danes: Please see my e-mail reply. As long as MJPEG output is provided it should work fine with Haiku.

@Ajey:

1. Rooms require HLC lighting, they won't work with Centralite -- but we will try to add manual room sorting in the future.
2. There is no way to know what scene numbers are relevant as the HAI controller does not know this and doesn't provide the information to Haiku. The only way would be maybe to allow Haiku options for hiding scenes for specific lights in the future, but it would be a bit of work to go through each light manually configuring this unfortunately.
3. The description field is not stored on the controller, its only stored on PC Access and thus we cannot access it, we have already explored this option and even tried to look at a way to import the data from the PC Access file itself but it looks like its encrypted.
4. This looks like a bug, can you contact me regarding this at zigzag ( a t ) nullriver (( d o t ) c o m


@donwhale: Would you be able to provide access to a test camera for us to debug with? I'm sure we can get it working. Otherwise we'll look at ordering one in.
 
Looks like camera function is not working even with a Vivotek Camera. I just purchased Haiku and tried to link to my mjpg feed but it didn't work. I can see my camera with Safari or my Iphone browser using the same link that I entered in Haiku.
I will pm you a link to my camera so you can debug.

Nevermind camera is working. you should still put the "http:// " before the address
 
Hopefully this will work with HAI cameras at some point. Just want to put the http:// URL:MJPEG stream and have it work like it does with Snaplink mobile and Safari. SJ

It should already work fine, what URL are you entering exactly? The port surely can't be "MJPEG" ?

If I enter http://192.168.0.105:7171 in safari or my snaplink app, the video displays immediately. 7171 is what I have defined as the MJPEG stream. All i get is a ? In the middle of the pop up box in Haiku. Thanks. SJ
 
Homeboy is right, you are missing the path to the MJPEG video file (stream). Haiku needs the full path, as it doesn't display HTML -- it streams the actual data only.

Sorry, but does snap link display HTML? How do I know what to enter? Thanks.
 
How do i arrange the icons on the main status page so that i can have direct access to my cameras. Right now i still have to tap "more" and "cameras" before i can choose the camera that i want to view

Tap More then tap Edit and then drag the Cameras icon onto the bar at the bottom wherever you want it on top of another item (replacing the other item).

View source in Safari doesn't show anything when I'm displaying the camera image. Gosh this is not easy! :(

Try opening Terminal on your Mac and type:

curl http://x.x.x.x:xxxx

(replace Xs with your IP/port info) and see what you get back?
