Haiku HAI and the iPAD

Had a friend ask me about this app that also has a HAI camera system setup. I hope you can get this working at some point. Really the only issue I have with the application. SJ

I still can't stand the message behavior, please give me a way to disable the modal message pops.

I can live with everything else I have mentioned but having a message that was shown hours ago popup when my wife logs in as new unread, which she always hits "dismiss" because she wants to get to the other stuff, now clears the message from all keypads, ugh.

Messages are shown and cleared on an Omni system nearly the same as zone violation messages, they are not "unread", "ignored" or "dismissed".

You can send the messages as "No Beep/No LED" and then Haiku would not make them pop up, only show them in the Messages/Status tabs. Is this not sufficient?

It's not ideal, I have messages that I want to beep(when the message was shown not hours later when I login to Haiku), or have the led blink just like a violated zone.

As far as I know this is the typical use for messages on the Omni, since aux zones don't show or beep on key pads, and you may have more complex logic layered before a message is shown, message are displayed just like a zone violation message, and the beep is just like a entry/exit zone beep. The keypads don't pop the message up over everything and force you to hit a ignore/dimiss prompt to continue.

You already do everything a keypad does with messages, but have also added this extra modal popup feature, if I could turn that off Haiku would function just like a keypad with respect to messages, which would make things much more consistent across my system.

If you are not willing to change this I will probably have to go to the no beep/no led and lose some functionality I had, because the popups are getting in everyones way.

Again perhaps in iOS5 you can go to the non modal alerts like all the system alerts, I could prob deal with that.

Well, the HAI touch pads (OmniTouch) does actually pop up a message on the screen, that is more what our app behaves like, not the keypads. However, yes, we can add an option to not show the alerts when messages are sent. I will add it to the TODO for the next version.

I do appreciate that, it is odd that HAI themselves would be inconsistent do a modal popup on their touch screens, Web-link and the keypads display them passively.

Do their touch screens display violated aux zones on the status screen? Because these are not displayed on keypads or web-link or snap-link home screens. The aux issue is convoluting the message issue with my rain sensor, I need to show a message to get the keypads/web-link to blink/display rain, where as Haiku displays both, but the modal dismiss usually gets hit by whoever, clearing the rain message from the keypads prematurely.

So you see I can live with the aux zone issue if the modals go away, I will just see a doubled up rain message on the home screen in Haiku, which is just mildly annoying. Same goes for my outside motions which display a message for 10 minutes after motion, and will display doubled up messages during motion from the aux zones being violated.

Feature request -
I find myself constantly going to my HAI Thermostats and looking at the hour usage numbers. Is this something that can be pulled and stored on this app?

Current and last X number of weeks.

Sorry, unfortunately the thermostat/controller don't provide this information to Haiku. I wish we could track it too :( HAI really should add this plus tracking of wattage per load.

I updated Haiku from the App store this morning, and now when it launches it shuts down after a couple of seconds. It happens consistently whether I'm at home on wifi or away using 3G. Help!

Hi Patrick,

What version of iOS are you using on your device? Can you send us a crash log perhaps?

We've gotten a few reports of this already. Anyone else having this issue with 2.8 here?

Thanks!
