Haiku HAI and the iPAD

What are the values you are entering into Haiku?

It's working fine for us here in Haiku.
http://192.168.0.105:8008

I type this into safari and it displays the stream perfectly. Also put in my I'd and password, but this is really not necessay for the stream only.

Another suggestion: delete the camera and add a new one with only that exact full URL including http and the port. There is no reason at all for it not to work if it works in safari.

Tried deleting and adding a new one. The only thing I have defined is a name and the URL. Still doesn't work. Ugggggg

SJHart: And the URL is exactly: http://x.x.x.x:8008 ?

PTZ is disabled right?

What appears on the screen when you try to view the camera?

Here's what we use and it works:

What model is your camera again?

Also, can you check the camera's firmware version (from the web admin interface)?

Yes on the URL. PTA is disabled. A ? appears on the window.

Could my router or iPad be blocking it?
  The software version is h20100317NS

HAI Part Number: 68A11-1

This works fine in safari and in the iPhone snaplink app. Thanks. SJ

@SJHart: Interesting, we've tracked it down to being an issue only on iOS 4.3, its a bug with the WebKit framework looks like. We've been testing with the next major update from Apple here and it was working fine. So, the next update from Apple will correct this. In the mean time we'll continue to look for a workaround.

We're going to be adding H.264 support as well, so that would work soon too. Any idea what the URL for the H.264 stream is? I'm going to look around now.

Thought I was going crazy! :). Thanks. SJ

I have to ask since no one else has. Will you be doing an Android tablet version? I don't need one today, but plan on this in about 6 to 10 months. Probably need 2 copies.

I know you have a history of doing Apple SW, but you must have thought about it. This could be a big expansion of your enterprise :).

I've got several 2N HeliosIP door stations. They've got an on-board camera that streams video over RTSP. I know that the device is compatible with the HAI IP-enabled touch screens. However, I'm using iPads running HAIKU.

Will Haiku support video over RTSP now or in the future?

BTW: The camera does support Motion JPEG (up to 10 fps) in addition to H.264. The stream for JPEG is http://helios_ip_address/enu/camera###x### (where helios_ip_address is the ip address of the device and ###x### is the desired resolution).

Thanks

Haiku does not support RTSP. No definitive timeline yet due to some technical limitations, but it's on the todo. Are you not able to use the mjpeg stream? That is probably what the hai touch screens use, as they are not fast enough to decode h.264.
