Haiku HAI and the iPAD

Haiku does not support RTSP. No definitive timeline yet due to some technical limitations, but it's on the todo. Are you not able to use the mjpeg stream? That is probably what the hai touch screens use, as they are not fast enough to decode h.264.

Thanks for the quick response! I briefly tried to configure HAIKU with the MJPEG but no joy. I will fool around with it some more and see what I can do. I was able to get a single static image to pop up on Safari. However, I guess it means that that Helios' server isn't pushing the stream. Will HAIKU "pull" the images?

Also are there any suggested settings in terms of frames per second, and image size?

I am a beginner with IP cameras and would like more info on how they work with Snaplink

I want to get the Helios 2N, which is 640x480. I was reading the instructions on setup in the HAI KB article said to configure it to 320x240

I also want to use a number of 720P POE cameras.

The last thing I want to do is spend money on higher resolution cameras, and then find that I have to down res them to use them with Snaplink.

Can someone let me know why this recommendation is in the KB article? Is it because of the limited resolution of the iPad/HAI touch screens?

I want to make sure I know how to set things up so that I am recording full camera resolution to the NAS device, but at the same time i can view images realtime on an ipad.

I would think you can configure the camera to save to the NAS device at 640x480 or 720P, and the iPad / snaplink to view a lower res stream direct from the camera, perhaps switching to higher res when the scene is in full screen mode.

Is that how it works? or is this a pipe dream?

I can view my vivotek camera at 640X480 without problems.

First of all, I'm loving Haiku. Very elegant program.

Any thought of adding a feature to allow the use to design/program their own button (not an HAI button)? Here's why I ask: The lock function on my 2n Helios -- which I use to open/close a gate -- can be triggered by an http command (e.g. http://ip_address_/enu/lockfunction....). It would be very cool if I could program a button on HAIKU to send the command. I posted a question on the HAI programmer's forum and the only person to respond wrote that an HAI button cannot be programmed to do this. Thanks.

Hi Everyone

I am trying to get the images from the door phone of 2n helios on Haiku. I am just able to get a static image. Has someone been successful in doing this?

Ajey

So I updated my Haiku to ver 3.1.. I like that I can see my megapixel cameras in full screen from my Ipad!
What about the pop up camera whenever a button is executed, Can you make it full screen too?

http://www2.worthingtondistribution.com/blog/?cat=7 ...looks like Ipad is going to have full control of HAI and audio/video as well
