Haiku HAI and the iPAD

We've got something exciting coming soon… but you do need a Mac:

Lupinglade:
Thanks for the latest update with the MJPEG pull. I set it up, but it's not quite working. It will pull up a partial image (like the top third or quarter or less) and the go blank and start again. I suspect it may be that HAIKU is trying to pull the image at a different frame rate than the camera is set. I can set it for 10, 5, or 3 FPS for JPEGs. I've tried all 3 rates and have the same problem.

That's strange, it seems more like an MJPEG? replacing a file 10 times a second and expecting it to be downloaded on time isn't realistic... those settings don't make much sense. Any way you can give me a test URL via PM? Actually, Haiku should be downloading the next image fully in the background before even displaying it.

On another note, here's another peek into HaikuHelper:

@SJHart: Interesting, we've tracked it down to being an issue only on iOS 4.3, its a bug with the WebKit framework looks like. We've been testing with the next major update from Apple here and it was working fine. So, the next update from Apple will correct this. In the mean time we'll continue to look for a workaround.

We're going to be adding H.264 support as well, so that would work soon too. Any idea what the URL for the H.264 stream is? I'm going to look around now.

Just upgraded to IOS 5 and my HAI IP camera finally works!! Thanks. SJ

Re: HaikuHelper

Is it in the Mac App Store yet? I looked for it when I saw the new update for the iOS app but haven't been able to locate it as of yet.

Haiku 3.3 is also submitted, there is a bug in 3.2 that will prevent push notifications from working even once HaikuHelper is out until you upgrade to 3.3.

Haiku 3.4 is out -- The new proximity detection feature should be fully working now. Be careful to enter the Flag Unit #, not the Flag # when configuring.

We'd love to add Siri integration but the API is not (yet, anyway) available to developers.

I've added our promotional images for the HaikuHelper App Store page to my gallery, so if anyone is interested you can take a look there at the features it has. I'm surprised its taking so long for Apple to approve it :-/

I still do use Haiku (actually my primary interface)! Actually never tried, for some reason I thought you were working on this feature. I'll give it a try! Thanks.

Also, is there anyway to force HAIKU to have you input your security code before using? For remote access (vs. my internal address), I like to have the added security. Especially for my iphone. SJ

Haiku always worked remotely. That's one of the main uses on an iPhone ;) It should work perfectly.

Sorry, there is no way to use a security code currently, but for now you can always set a code on your phone itself. We have this on the TODO.
