HAI F door wired to zone not responding fast enought.

We created custom door bells for a client and wired them into a zone on the HAI. Works great except you need to press the button for more than a second to trip the zone. If you do a quick press like most people would on a door bell it will not trip the zone and set off the frount door bell. Any one else try this and get it to work?

I dont know about HAI but in ELK M1 you have the option to setting it to a fast loop response

You can't do it standalone on he OPII since the loop response is not fast enough and there is no way to change it. You need to use the Elk-960 delay timer to add the delay giving the OPII time to recognize it.

Does this loop response time affect wireless sensors as well? I'm having a similar issue with wireless keyfobs. If you press the button quickly (but long enough to light the fob LED), it will not pick up the zone change. You have to hold it for 1-2 seconds for it to sense the zone change.

It may not be related, but it sure sounds like the same issue.

On the HAI key fobs the fob it self is set sith a small delay to prevent accendintal presses the last button the aux I think has a longer delay of 2 sec. This is programmed inteh fob itself. But if the red litht comes on it should be transmitting.

I have issues with them not reading all the time the light comes on but people have to hit them 2 or 3 times. Is that your issue as well? I have not found a solution to that.

Yes, same issue. I'm aware of the built-in fob delay, but if the LED comes on, it should have transmitted and been received. If you hold the button down for 2-3 seconds, it usually works. That's problematic though as the user would assume it should work if they see the LED light up.

And I have the opposite problem. With a few wireless zones, and the HAI GE receiver, if a zone is opened and closed too fast, the receiver misses the close signal, then I get my messages that the gate/door has been left open when it hasn't.

Sounds like a related problem to me. The transmission event is too quick and either the wireless receiver misses it or the panel misses the communication from the receiver. I think I'll do some tests in front of my receiver to see if it registers on the LED there but is missed by the panel.

Thanks Steve put in the ELK 960 and it worked perfect, also ordered several for stock. I sure I will need more in the future.
